Sights around Beverly Hills

The cherry trees were blooming in Beverly Hills

The movie Halloween was filmed at this house.

This is the original Blue Brothers restaurant

Typical contents of a Beverly Hills garage

Strange characters on Hollywood Boulevard

These costumed characters roam the sidewalk in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. They collect tips from people who want their picture taken with the characters who don't have a good day unless they make $700.00 per day! Anybody want a new job?

Some budding starlet was being interviewed, too.

City Walk leads to Universal Studios

The special effects are awesome.

There are plenty of places to eat and to shop.

Strange characters roamed the courtyards.

This guy was stalking me.....
but he found a friend!
The soldier on the right is alive!

Animals who are Movie Stars

Yup, this is the Bush Beans dog! He's a she!

Movie vehicles and bones

These bones are from Jurrasic Park...and made of styrofoam.

This boat is actually only 3 or 4 feet long. Doesn't it look realistic?

We're having a wonderful time! Wish you were here!

Seal Beach and Long Beach, California

Seal Beach really does have seals! The one in the picture with Judy is a memorial to Slick who must have lived on the beach at one time. Another real, live seal entertained us as he was fishing for his lunch during our walk on the wharf. The birds followed the seal as he surfaced for air, hoping to pick up a morsel that was lost by the seal.

We also noticed that not all the surfers were young!

We visited the Queen Mary today, March 7, 2007, on a self-guided tour. The ship is permanently located near Long Beach, California. Most of the ship is used as a hotel. There are several shops and restaurants also located within the ship. Also located near the ship is a Russian submarine that was captured.

The Queen Mary was used extensively during World War II to transport soldiers to and from Europe. The ship, which usually carried around 2000 people took as many as 16000 troops over to the battlefields.

The bell and plaque honors the thousands of troops who were transported to and from Europe during World War II.
The city of Long Beach is seen between the Russian submarine and the bow of the Queen Mary.
