Our Second Day at Universal Studios

We visited the set of Backflash, the movie about firefighters produced by Ron Howard. During the tour they actually set the props on fire to show us how it was done in the movie. The heat in the room was very apparent. It was a dangerous movie to film.

There is a sophisticated set of four outdoor escalators that you take to the lower lot of Universal Studios, unless you want to show off and take the stairs on the right!
And some people did!

I guess they recognize talent when they see it. As you can tell by the uniform, Judy got picked up by the Oakland Raiders during our visit.
But she didn't last long!

We rode the water ride through Jurassic Park and an indoor roller coaster with awesome special effects. All the workers at Universal Studios are 'actors'. They put on quite a show while they take you on the tours.

The weather has been wonderful during our stay in the Los Angeles area.
We recently ate at a restaurant chain that we saw advertised on the Travel Chain, called Rubio's. We just had to try the fish tacos. They were good but not nearly as good as Judy's shrimp and mango taco. Both were topped off with.....cabbage! This we could not imagine, until we tried it and it was amazingly good and appropriate for this type of taco. You just have to try it! It didn't taste like cabbage at all.

This picture is looking down on the backlot of Universal Studios where many movies are filmed. In some of the old movies, two identical doors were built in two different sizes. The ladies were filmed in the large doorways to make them appear more petite. The cowboys were filmed in the small doorways to make them appear larger. Oh, the tricks of Hollywood.

Glen has a new job! He's been asked to join the crew of Apollo 13. I'm glad....maybe I'll get to meet Tom Hanks!

The scenic view points out the studios of MGM, the offices of Disney, and other important places that old, feeble women aren't prone to remember!
