We have arrived in Whitehorse after a beautiful six hour drive from Watson Lake. There are many forests of very tall pine trees called lodgepole pines, for obvious reasons. The lakes are pristine and beautiful. We also crossed many rivers and creeks with rocky bottoms. The mountains are back and beautiful. This area is very rocky and along the highway many people have stopped to outline their names or states' names using the small rocks that are so readily available. We stopped at a cute little lodge and ate lunch today, a beef stew over homemade garlic bread and a salad of mixed greens and tomato. It was very good and homemade.
On Sunday we had our first mishap on the road. Much to our shock, the fresh water tank on the underside of our fifth wheel completely dropped out of its bracing and scrapped along the road. It was only connected to the trailer by its hoses and electrical connections. Pictures are included. Glen spent over an hour under the trailer securing the loose parts so it was safe for us to drive. We are thankful that it didn't come off and cause an accident.
The weather continues to be beautiful, even this morning when it was 48 degrees. The humidity is very low so it does not seem so cold. And it warms up quickly during the day.
We wish you were all here.
